Every person charged with a crime in a Massachusetts court will a criminal history record, or Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). These records are kept by the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services.
There are specific procedures to allow people with CORIs to see their record, and try to correct mistakes or have part or all of the record sealed. Having a CORI can also affect your search for housing or employment. For information on any of these topics and to get help, visit MassLegalHelp.
For a list of CORI forms and applications offered by the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services, please visit the CORI Forms, Applications and Model Policies page at the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security website. For additional information, or answers to questions not found there, you may contact the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services CORI Unit at (617) 660-4640.
